Honey is a natural antibacterial and antimicrobial agent. Containing hydrogen peroxide and glucose oxidase, raw honey has a low pH level, which means it can kill harmful bacteria and fungi. Some evidence suggests that honey has antiviral properties. Also, honey is acidic, which helps release oxygen from the wound and promote healing (medicalnewstoday.com).
Early research shows that applying beeswax and raw honey to skin can aid in healing from burns and scrapes, as well as minor cuts, and may also help ease pain and itching from hemorrhoids and diaper rash (webmd.com).
Raw honey and beeswax contain anti-inflammatory properties which encourage the healing of wounds. They are also protective, helping form a barrier between the skin and the environment without clogging pores. Further, beeswax is high in vitamin A, which has been found to support cell reconstruction and health. Every bar contains ten percent (by weight) raw honey and beeswax.
Every Bees On Earth™ Honey soap bar is 4.6 to 4.8 ounces; the size varies because each bar is hand-poured and hand-cut. Bees On Earth™ Honey soaps are Made in America by an East Coast beekeeper and are currently being offered in three essences:
Natural Honey, Honey/Grapefruit Zest, Honey/LemonGrass and Honey/Eucalyptus/Spearmint.
I will consider requests for special occasion soaps, which includes coordinating with the customer on molds, wraps and essences. So far, I've only done one occasion, but it was so much fun! I've included photos of these special, wedding guest soaps.
